Computer hardware, web-scrapers, driftwood, insects, aluminium extrusions

Dredger is a new form of news aggregation utility. It pulls from a broad range of sources to bring you stories from around the UK and the world. In order to help you parse current events efficiently, it makes use of an interpolation algorithm which attempts to synthesise all news media into one single output.

Drawing inspiration from the complete overwhelm of online news media, Dredger is an experiment with noise and its intimate relationship with information. It portrays how information in abundance quickly deteriorates into noise. As the news cycle progresses, the output becomes increasingly information dense and at the same time increasingly unreadable as the abundance of data pushes that information into incomprehensible noise.
